The internet is a global network of interconnected computers that allows for the exchange of information. Vinton Cert and Robert Kahn are generally credited with the creation of the Internet. They founded it in on January 1st, 1983.

World Wide Web is an information system on the internet which allows documents to be connected to other documents by hypertext links, enabling users to search for information by moving from one document to the other. Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist, founded WWW in 1989.  It was originally used by scientists as a way to share information. Now, it used by people all over the world to access information and communicate.

The World Wide Web and the internet are two different things that work side by side with each other. The first website ever created was by Tim Berners-Lee in 1991. The website is still up today: http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html.

Hedy Lamar invented a frequency hopping device which is now the basis of modern day bluetooth and wifi. There is a song by Hedy Lamar because it was written by actor Johnny Depp and released with musical Jeff Beck, highlighting her struggles with fame for her beauty while also being a pioneering technologist.

Jaap Haartsen invented Bluetooth in 1994. Jim Kardach however, gave it the name "Bluetooth".  The logo looks the way not does because it is the combination of two Scandinavian runes that represent the initials H and B.

John O'Sullivan founded wifi in 1997. The original name for wifi was "IEEE 802.11b Direct Sequence".  The term "Wi-Fi" was coined by a marketing firm, and was used commercially in August 1999.
